Introduction of subscription model (2020—)

On 27 July 2020, Wink introduced a subscription model for their previously subscription-free Smarthome Hub.^[1]^[2]

Users who do not sign up will be restricted to limited functionality, including local control over select devices, such as those found in the Lights + Power menu, as well as Z-Wave connected Locks.

Features no longer available without signing up

User will no longer have access to:^[2]

Cloud and API control (voice, remote app control, third-party integrations)
Groups
Robots
Shortcuts
Activity
Advanced Hub settings

Users will have no longer the ability to:^[2]

View, add, delete or rename codes
Add devices
Change icons and edit device names
View or add saved locations
Share and unshare devices
Update hub and relay firmware
