Forced Arbitration of a Wrongful Death Lawsuit

In October 2023, Kanokporn Tangsuan, dining at the Raglan Road Irish Pub in Disney Springs died due to food poisoning[1], despite multiple reminders that her food was being cooked in a manner where she would not have consumed allergens. When her husband, Jeffery Piccolo, attempted to sue the restaurant for causing her demise, Disney pulled up terms agreed upon for a trial subscription to Disney+ in order to force the husband to sue under forced arbitration[2]. When people were informed of this, there was massive backlash, which startled Disney to rescind their request for Jeffery to enter arbitration.[3] It is currently unknown what the results of the case were.
