"Lovify - Fun Couple Games App" is a multiplayer mobile app designed for couples to connect more using a game where one person answers a given question in "Round 1" and then in "Round 2" the other partner is supposed to guess what they answered.
According to their Google Play Store description: "This couple game has 800+ questions for couples across 10 conversation topics like: Travel, Romance, Food, Films & Music, Sex & Intimacy, Hobbies & more..". Although their website as of writing instead says "Lovify has 2100+ relationship questions for couples." so the exact number of questions is unclear.
Due to the intimate nature of several of the questions the answers could be highly private and also valuable for selling purposes.
Numerous reviews on the Google Play Store have also mentioned the app functioning incorrectly and not properly synchronising questions and answers between the two players.
Consumer Impacts
The app's privacy policy reveals:
What it reveals | What it means in practice |
---|---|
Lovify collects only the basics. Email, nickname, quiz answers, device logs, and purchase receipts. | No surprise “silent” data grabs—just what’s needed to run the game and keep subscriptions working. |
Zero data-selling or ad-tracking. | Your info isn’t monetised or passed to ad networks. No creepy retargeting. |
GDPR-compliant & globally transparent. Identifies an EU representative, lawful bases, and user rights. | Even if you’re outside Europe, you get EU-level protections and clear opt-outs. |
Trusted processors only. Firebase, RevenueCat, App Store / Google Play, Postmark—each bound by strict contracts & encryption. | Your data flows through reputable, security-audited services, not random third-parties. |
Clear retention limits. Content auto-purges after 24 months of inactivity; receipts kept 10 years for tax. | Data isn’t hoarded forever. There’s a schedule, so less risk if accounts lie dormant. |
One-tap delete & portability. You can erase or export everything from in-app settings. | You stay in control; leaving Lovify doesn’t trap your data. |
Child-safety gate. Under-13/16 users are not allowed. | Reduces legal risk for parents and keeps the community adult-focused. |
Modern security stack. TLS, AES-256 at rest, MFA for staff, annual pentests. | Lower chance of breaches; swift response if something goes wrong. |
A more minor issue is that the app seems to not function properly for some people where the questions and answers are not correctly synchronised. According to the replies of the developer the issue seems to relate to some kind of localization update.

To give the developer some minor credit they have replied to a number of these reviews but seemingly have yet to completely fix them in the almost 3 months of these issues being known.
Consumer impact summary
- User Privacy
Language of the privacy policy explicitly allows the sale of extremely intimate information.
- Business Model
The wording of the privacy policy makes it reasonable to assume that they are fishing for intimate data just to later sell off their company together with all the collected data in an acquisition.
