Geeni is a smart home company founded in 2017. They specialize in wireless IP security cameras, smart LED lighting, smart power plugs, and various other smart home devices. Geeni is a sub-brand of Merkury Innovations along with West & Arrow, Suds.lab, and Merkury Smart.[1]
Consumer-impact summary
Users cannot control light bulbs or other devices paired to Geeni app or phone until new terms and conditions have been agreed to after the initial sale.
Incidents
As of June 2025, a user has reported that bulbs cannot be controlled by the app or other methods until the user agrees to the new terms and conditions. The bulb will enter pairing mode, but will not connect even if paired to the app previously. Consumers who are outside of the 30 day time frame from purchase are not eligible for refunds leaving no recourse for not accepting the new terms and conditions. The Geeni policy for refunds is listed below.
