Mojang is a game development studio owned by Microsoft. Mojang is widely known for the development of Minecraft and its spinoffs. The studio was founded by Markus Persson in 2009 and was purchased by Microsoft in late 2014.

Consumer-impact summary

Mojang's most popular product, Minecraft, can be accessed after an initial up-front purchase, which gives users access to the Java & Bedrock editions of the game. Bedrock Edition offers in-game purchases through the form of a premium currency system. Purchases are not inherently pay to win within the official game but, some multiplayer experiences made by developers, commonly called as community servers, do have pay to win elements.
