Consumer-impact summary

Mojang's most popular product, Minecraft, can be accessed after an initial up-front purchase, which gives users access to the Java & Bedrock editions of the game. Bedrock Edition offers in-game purchases through the form of a premium currency system. Purchases are not inherently pay to win within the official game but, some multiplayer experiences made by non-Mojang developers, commonly called as community servers, do have pay to win elements.

Forced migration of accounts to Microsoft

After Microsoft acquired Mojang on 15th of September 2015 Mojang started the process of migrating Minecraft accounts to Microsoft, This process would force users to either link their Microsoft Xbox account to their Minecraft account or, create a Microsoft Xbox account. Non-compliance with these requirements would mean that people who had previously purchased Minecraft would lose access to the purchase [1].
