Hey what happened to my account?
I am currently using "Edit Source" as a way to communicate, but I am not sure what happened. What happened to "Edit" what happened to me not able to reply? What did I do?

"Random Page" should be front and center :)
When browsing without an account "Random Page" is hidden behind a menu. Is there a way to plop it right next to "search" or in the middle of the home page to better facilitate visitors? (or maybe a browse button? Or a "New here? Read about consumer rights here!" where it gives a quick into and recommends a good page to start browsing).
Its just a little overwhelming to be a visitor curious about consumer rights and not having a clear place to start. Mallveo (talk) 21:39, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry for none of us replying! Pinging @Keith as he can give a much better response, but from what I understand we are doing a full UI redesign in 2026. As for things being front and center, maybe we could consider that as an option when we do that, but there is a sidebar already showing some important information on the left. Hope that helps. - I think the thing they're meaning with this is that the sidebar starts out collapsed if you're not logged in, so it's not obviously visible to a new user. This is something that should probably be fixed regardless of any UI redesign as I think the sidebar's pretty important for site navigation.

- This is a default feature of Vector 2022. I’d fixed this before, but it got overwritten when we redid a lot of the infrastructure. I’ll add it back when I get a chance. JakeL (talk) 01:09, 28 January 2026 (UTC)

Top articles correction
I moved the page Milwaukee battery DRM because "DRM" was lowercase previously. The main page still uses the formatting from the redirect that the page move left behind, even after purging the cache, so it must be manually updated. More importantly, the link for Digital rights management is dead; I'm going to add a redirect, but I'm leaving this here as a heads up. Bythmusters (talk) 18:05, 29 January 2026 (UTC)

Seeking Help to Reconfigure Bluetooth Settings on a Medical Prosthetic Knee
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I’m a transfemoral amputee using a second-hand Bluetooth-enabled prosthetic knee. The knee itself is fully functional, but it’s an older, discontinued model, and that’s where the problem starts.
The manufacturer’s configuration software is now obsolete and no longer supported, so my prosthetist cannot reconfigure the knee using official tools anymore. I do have legitimate access:
• The device is mine • I can successfully connect to it via Bluetooth • I have the pairing key and can use the mobile app
However, the mobile app only exposes very limited settings, and I need access to deeper / advanced configuration parameters that directly affect my gait, stability, and overall mobility. These settings clearly exist (they were adjustable when the device was still supported), but they’re now locked behind software that no longer runs.
What I’m trying to understand is whether it’s possible to:
• Inspect or understand the Bluetooth communication used by the original software/app • Identify the relevant commands, characteristics, or protocol used to configure the knee • Modify or send specific configuration values using modern tools, without relying on the deprecated software
This is not about bypassing security or hacking a device I don’t own — it’s a medical device that I depend on daily, and I’m simply trying to regain access to functionality that the hardware is already capable of, but software obsolescence has taken away.
I’m open to learning and doing this properly, and I understand this may involve BLE analysis, protocol reverse-engineering, or embedded/Bluetooth tooling. Even high-level guidance on where to start (tools, workflows, or similar experiences) would be incredibly helpful.
If anyone has experience with:
• Bluetooth or BLE reverse engineering • GATT analysis, packet sniffing, or custom Bluetooth protocols
or is willing to help guide me through this, I’d be deeply grateful. This isn’t just a technical curiosity — it’s about maintaining my independence and quality of life.

Add diagrams
I know this is likely already covered under some other site or maybe it is here and I missed it.
Would it be possible to have a section for an archive of wiring diagramsand maybe user manuals? I havee no ideas how it could be archived ie by year the product was made, or company, or company product subproduct.
I worry that may bring unwanted attention from companies trying to keep their diagrams proprietary. That or this will be the location of the next top secret leak.
I could also see this being a data sink that is rarely used.
I know a some of the manuals/ diagrams are hidden behind a pay wall or almost impossible to find and having one location that is not going to charge a subscription later would be great. 72.22.224.50 19:57, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
