Switches previously-manual renewals to auto and limits window to change option (2025)

Effective 8 January 2025, OVHcloud switched any domain names and web hosting plans that were set to manual renewal to automatic. The company also limited changing the renewal option to "up to 31 days before the renewal date.[2]

However, there are indications that keeping a plan set to manual had proven problematic even before the official update. For example, in late 2023 a Reddit user inquired if anyone else had noticed their plans change to automatically renew, to which another eventually confirmed.[3] Still another user stated that OVHcloud kept e-mailing them to re-commit to a contract (presumably due to being set to manual).[4]
