Car Thing
In 2019, Spotify announced the "Car Thing," a $90 device marketed as a voice-controlled interface for selecting music and podcasts while driving.[1] On May 23rd, 2024, Spotify released an article which explained the device will no longer be operational after December 9th, 2024,[2] and advised "Car Thing" owners to "contact your state or local waste disposal department to determine how to dispose of or recycle Car Thing in accordance with applicable laws and regulations,"[2] rendering the "Car Thing" obsolete.
