Gift with Purchase[edit | edit source]

Gift with Purchase is the concept of showing appreciation to the customer, by adding Items to the customers purchase free of charge. Upon meeting pre-defined criteria, e.g. a price threshold, a webstore may add complimentary items to the customer's purchase.

Refunds and Gift with Purchase[edit | edit source]

Webstores usually have a return policy when it comes to physical purchases. Companies may add a clause to their refund policy to revoke the ownership of complimentary[1] Items. When the customer refunds a purchase or parts of a purchase the Company can then demand to have gifted Items returned as well.
