Logitech has increasingly required consumers to use its proprietary G HUB application, particularly for gaming peripherals. This software is necessary for performing even basic device configurations, such as adjusting or turning off LEDs on mice and keyboards. The G HUB application also collects user data, raising concerns about privacy and data usage.[1] The alternative they provide, called Onboard Memory Manager is hidden away on their website. This version is less invasive, but only provides the bare minimum functionality as opposed to G HUB.

Logitech G HUB does not officially support Linux, and there are no plans to add support as of 2025.[2] Some linux users recommend alternatives such as piper or Solaar instead;[3] however, these tools do not support all Logitech products.
