[edit source]Have they "removed the broadcast feature entirely?[1]". I'm reading that they removed the feature from the app, but " But [journalists] were still able to view the locates and live streams of BlackVue dashcams in New Zealand and the U.S and listen inside the vehicle as well".
Re. "Seven CVEs across two product lines remain un-patched or were only acknowledged after public disclosure" : Rewrite? This sentence reads as vague and inflammatory, rather than appropriately damning. ( "un-patched" for months is serious, but "were only acknowledged after public disclosure" is often an appropriate, if its public acknowledgment withheld for a reasonable amount of time while a patch is developed. And the cites don't quite back up the claims, though probably other citations in the article could back up those or similar claims.
Let's say that "Major and critical security issues privately disclosed to the company were handled terribly." and
"Privacy settings were set to make streamed audio, video and location data publicly and continuously available by default and far from properly disclosed as such for years. " , with appropriate citations?
