[1] The company was founded in 1984 as PC's Limited by Michael Dell, and has since grown into a multinational corporation making hundreds of billions of US dollars worth of revenue. [1] Dell operates in both the consumer and business segments, selling personal and business computing hardware as well as various IT services, most recently Artificial Intelligence. Dell is headquartered in Round Rock, Texas.

[edit | edit source]Dell releases their XPS 13 Plus laptop. Soon after, many customers began having issues that stemmed from major manufacturing flaws. For instance, the use of an improper adhesive caused the OLED screens to fall off their backplate, often resulting in damaged pixels.[2][3][4] Customers on Amazon have reported other issues, on both the hardware and software ends of the product, saying that their devices are glitching and breaking in all manner of ways.[5]

Dell disables HEVC support built into their laptops’ CPUs
[edit | edit source]HP and Dell have disabled HEVC (H.264/H.265) hardware encoding and decoding support built into their laptops’ CPUs using both Intel and AMD processors.[6]
