Shame on Subaru

[edit source]

First - My thanks to the people who started this Wiki. I'm glad there are people who still care about safeguarding consumer rights.

I bought a 2023 Subaru Outback and I'll never buy another Subaru because of the Starlink advertisements that pop-up on my screen. Their use of my screen, which controls vital aspects of the operation of the vehicle, as a billboard to push ads in my face while I'm driving down the road is unconscionable and unforgivable. I've called Subaru and SiriusXM and asked them to remove me from these advertisements, and while they say I've been removed, the ads keep coming. Not only are the ads distracting, they are also dangerous. They block everything else on the screen and force you to take your eyes off the road to dismiss the messages. You have to be very careful while doing so, because if you press the wrong button you will inadvertently subscribe to SiriusXM. Good luck maintaining control of your car while trying to get this garbage off your screen and get your navigation working again! Subaru's response to complaints has been to say that the ads offer really good deals. How insulting!
