Anti-consumer practices

Introduction of subscription model

On July 27, 2020, Wink introduced a subscription model for their previously subscription free Smarthome Hub.

Users who do not sign up will be restricted to limited functionality, including local control over select devices, such as those found in the Lights + Power menu, as well as Z-Wave connected Locks.

Features no longer available without signing up

User will no longer have access to:

• Cloud and API control (voice, remote app control, third-party integrations)
• Groups
• Robots
• Shortcuts
• Activity
• Advanced Hub settings

Users will have no longer the ability to:

• View, add, delete or rename codes
• Add devices
• Change icons and edit device names
• View or add saved locations
• Share and unshare devices
• Update hub and relay firmware
