The following format should be used for Products:

Consumer impact

Privacy

  • This is intended to be a summary of everything relevant to a consumer's privacy
  • It will mostly contain things about the Privacy Policy
  • It may also include relevant Terms of Service or other agreements that impact privacy
  • It may also briefly reference a previous privacy incident

Freedom

  • This is intended to be a summary of everything relevant to a consumer's freedom
  • It will mostly contain things from the terms of service and any usage agreements/contracts
  • It may also include relevant snippets from the Privacy Policy that impact freedom
  • It may also briefly reference a previous incident where the product restricted user freedom

Transparency

  • This is intended to be a summary of the product's track record of transparency
  • It will mainly reference instances where the product prevents inspection or is intentionally confusing

Consumer-protection incidents

Example Incident One (Jan. 2025)

Text for incidents should be at least 3-4 sentences and contain a comprehensive yet readable summary of the incident. There is no limit on length. Ensure that all information is cited.

Example Incident Two (Dec. 2024)

This is an example incident to show that incidents should be sorted in reverse-chronological order.
