According to the FTC:^[1]

BetterHelp used a wide variety of tactics to share the health information of over 7 million consumers with platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, Criteo, and Pinterest for the purpose of advertising.

BetterHelp hires 'sketchy' therapists,^{[citation needed]} they are overworked^{[citation needed]} and paid well below industry standard.^{[citation needed]}

70% of respondents in a survey had a negative experience with better help^[2]^[3] In UK therapists don't need accreditation to practice unlike US, nevertheless there are bodies which accredit therapists, BetterHelp therapists may not be accredited in UK. ^[4]
