Creators' lawsuit (Jan 2025)

edit

Online creators filed a class-action lawsuit against Capital One, alleging that the company used cookies to override the commissions that content creators would've earned through affiliate marketing[1][2]. In their lawsuit, they claimed unjust enrichment by Capital One as well as intentional interference with contractual relations and conversion, among other claims[3]. Capital One attempted to dismiss the case in June, then finally settled in September while admitting to no wrongdoing[2].

Alleged fraudulent discounts

edit

Many users have claimed Capital One Shopping advertises fraudulent discounts that don't actually exist. Capitaloneshopping.com holds a rating of 1.3 stars on Trust Pilot, with many reviewers claiming "fraudulent prices," calling the browser extension a "hoax," and stating how they feel "frustrated" and cheated.[4]
