In addition to listing the fines in the provided details one can find relevant press releases from governing bodies as well as articles from what seem to be reputable outlets.

Violations by individuals or governments/government bodies are more than likely outside the scope of our mission statement.However instances of a GDPR violation by a company could be worthy of an incident article depending on the size of the organization and the severity of the incident (remember hyper-local, run-of-the-mill issues do not belong in the wiki). A section should be added to the "Incidents" section of company articles or Product/Product lines but in many cases a full Incident article is warranted with those violations.
This website can also be used when creating a company page to quickly check if a GDPR violation worthy incident involving said company has resulted in a fine in the past.
How to use as a source[edit | edit source]
Searching for a company and checking the details provides the relevant law violated as well as a press release form the countries regulating body. When mentioning the violation in a CAT wiki article this press realease sould be used as the primary reference.
Also consider adding [dsgvo-portal.de] in the |via parameter[footnotes 1] of the {{cite web}} template.
When using websites, other than goverment entities, that are provided as references by DSGVO-Portal in article in CAT wiki, the websites validity and reputability should also be verified by the users.

This website is managed by Compliance Essentials GmbH, a German company established in 2019 providing internet services and certifications in the areas of compliance and business security.[1][2] The website is also accossiated with Holzhofer Consulting GmbH [3], a sister company to Compliance Essentials GmbH, that has been active since 2012.
While the information provided seems accurate as of Febuary 2025 the provider does not guarantee the actuality, correctness, completeness or quality of the information provided [4].

Another website providing of a list of GDPR fines is GDPR Enforcement Tracker managed by CMS Hasche Sigle Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten und Steuerberatern mbB. This websitre provides a similar list that seems to contain the same data with a dynamically refreshed search feature and filterable collumns.
