US Mobile is an American MVNO that rebrands service from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The carrier is known for competitive pricing on it's plans and very interactive conversations with it's customers on it's company-run subreddit.
US Mobile's main selling point is the ability to switch between the three networks that the MVNO runs on at little or no cost depending on the tier of plan subscribed to.[1]

Dark Star feature incompleteness and launch issues[edit | edit source]
On 8/1/2024 US Mobile launched Dark Star network, their integration with the AT&T network. The launch was riddled with issues, odd marketing had users convinced this product would allow users to roam between all three major networks. One user was banned for asking for clarification on the subreddit where the announcement was made.[2]

In the same thread complaints about MMS issues were being shared by users of the service with no response from the company. To this day 3/3/25, the Dark Star service devoid of basic features such as MMS, group messaging, RCS, and visual voicemail do not work on IOS despite no warnings on the site when signing up for service.
Dark Star Uncapped Unlimited Premium Retroactively Amended Purchase Experience[edit | edit source]
On 2/11/2025, CEO Ahmed Khattak, posted to his subreddit announcing a new plan tier backed by the Dark Star Network: Unlimited Premium.[3]
The core promises of this bold new plan were:
- "Truly unlimited priority data with no caps, no throttles, and no slowdowns"
- "Unlimited hotspot because your connectivity should not be limited"
- "Full-speed HD streaming always"
This was superseded by a 1-day sale on the service to encourage new signups to the plan.
After signups to this new tier on this 1-day sale, 3 days after the launch of the plan the Khattak posted an update on the service where he floated the idea of data caps, hotspot caps, and requiring manual intervention by support if you happen to go over. In the update an example of abuse given was downloading a Windows update on a laptop.[4] As well as other users using it as a home service during outages.
After back and forth and losing arguments in their own subreddit, the CEO gave a proper update on concrete limitations in the new plan, that now include caps, throttles, slowdown, limited hotspot connectivity, and HD streaming limitations (from the former).[5]
