Introduction[edit | edit source]

The Dell Inspiron 15 7579 is a versatile 2-in-1 laptop that combines performance with portability, making it an appealing choice for students, professionals, and casual users alike. With its sleek design and flexible functionality, it allows users to switch between laptop and tablet modes seamlessly. However, like any device, it may encounter certain faults and issues that can affect its usability and performance.

One common problem reported by users is the scarcity and prices of replacement screens. Replacement screens for the Inspiron 15 7579 are hard to find, especially with its age. This scarcity can lead to extended downtime for users who experience screen damage or failure. It is exacerbated by the very next issue, of the abysmal hinge.

Hinge failure is a widespread issue, plaguing countless ultrabooks. The hinge here is no different. The mechanism allows the laptop to transition between modes, but can become loose or even break over time, even if the device is opened and closed with care. This can lead to difficulties in maintaining the desired angle of the screen and, in severe cases, it may render the laptop unusable, requiring a total top lid change, as the screen is glued to the lid.

This often costs more than the percieved value of the laptop. Many don't. A perfectly fine laptop goes to waste.

Another issue that has surfaced is touchpad failure. Users may experience excessive free play from the touchpad, which can hinder navigation and productivity and impede the clicking mechanism. This problem can often be mitigated by adding some tape to the touchpad mechanism, but can only be professionally fixed by replacing the touchpad. Parts are scarce, however. A poor implementation of Dell's sleek touchpad designs.

Power button failures are also a concern for some users. The flimsy and weak power button may become unresponsive, making it difficult to turn the laptop on or off. This can be particularly frustrating, as it prevents normal laptop usage, an obvious mark of obvious planned obsolescence. A temporary fix would be tape in the mechanism, as a spacer.
