===Permanent banishment from all online services (excepted console updates) if a backups loader is detected===
===Console bans stripping vital features===
Users have reported that using a Migswitch backups loader on the Switch 2, even with self-dumped games, can cause a permanent banishment from using all online services on an affected console which is very close in practice to a remote soft-brick imposed to the consumer on its own purchased hardware. This includes (but is not limited) restrictions on the ability to download game updates, download gamekey carts gamedata, redownload purchased games, or even buying new games.

A backups loader has legitimate (and totally legal in many countries) use-cases outside piracy so power-users won't need to carry all their games or wear their own cartridges, keeping their Migswitch on their console all the time instead.

This nuclear answer and excess of corporate control harms the consumer and this is also an ecological disaster to remotely brick consoles just because a company believes (on its own discretion) that unauthorized copies of games were used in an offline context. <ref>{{Cite journal |title=Nintendo will take your Switch 2 offline forever if you use a Mig flash cartridge |url=https://www.theverge.com/news/688483/nintendo-switch-2-ban-error-code-mig-flash-cartridge-online |journal=The Verge}}</ref>

The disabling of the ''eShop'' in particular means the console cannot download games or updates, and in particular disables the functionality of [[Switch Game Key-Card|game-key cards]], which require access to the ''eShop'' to be capable of downloading the game.<ref>{{Cite news |last=Cohen |first=Jason |date=Jun 5, 2025 |title=Buying Physical?
