[edit | edit source]Response letter dated July 26, 2026 from Louis Rossmann, individually and on behalf of Rossmann Repair Group Inc., to Zachary A. Westenhoefer, counsel for WeRecoverData.com, Inc., replying to the July 24, 2026 letter from that office. The letter states that WeRecoverData's June 19, 2026 demands have not been withdrawn, and that two matters remain open: the June 19, 2026 demand concerning WeRecoverData's "locations" and "facilities", and the question of when the robots.txt directives disallowing ia_archiver and archive.org_bot were added to werecoverdata.com.
Its seven parts record that the Austin Google Business Profile listing displayed the name "WeRecoverData Data Recovery Inc. - Austin - Drop-Off" and a photo-gallery graphic stating "No Lab onsite." as of July 25, 2026; that fifteen of the forty-six map links in Rossmann's published locations table settled on the single point 46.423669, -129.9427086 in the North Pacific Ocean on July 26, 2026; that eight Internet Archive captures of werecoverdata.com cited on Rossmann's webpage return the Wayback Machine's exclusion notice while rossmanngroup.com remains archived; that no statement on the webpage had been identified as false in the 37 days since the June 19, 2026 letter asserted falsity; and that WeRecoverData's July 24, 2026 letter disclosed the June 19, 2026 letter was part of a broader effort directed at several competitors and other industry participants. The letter asks WeRecoverData to restore the excluded archive snapshots, to serve the point-by-point response it promised, and to state in writing by August 14, 2026 whether it withdraws the June 19, 2026 demands in full.
