Razer acquired StreamElements on July 31, 2026 [1][2] After the acquisition, they updated the Privacy Policy. When opening StreamElements, the only alternatives are to accept the updated terms or delete the account to continue using SE LiveTools and other StreamElements services.

Background

[edit | edit source]

StreamElements was founded in 2016,[4] providing tools to streamers such as better engaging with their audience (e.g. chatbot commands and alert overlays).[5] Its largest competitor is StreamLabs.

On 25 February 2025, Twitch announced its partnership with StreamElements, with the latter's services being directly integrated into Twitch's Creator Dashboard.[6][7][8]

In May 2026, it was disclosed that StreamElements would soon be shutting down its website and platform if a buyer wasn't found.[9] On 31 July 2026, gaming hardware maker Razer announced that it had acquired StreamElements' assets.[10][11] The closing terms have not been disclosed.[12]
