Remove Your Media, LLC is a copyright enforcement company. It issues copyright takedown notices on other companies' behalf.[1] Company's CEO is Eric Green.[2] Company's address in their official website leads to a Walmart.
Consumer impact summary
[edit | edit source]Remove Your Media has an infamous practice of scanning the Internet for infringing content using AI tools and automatically issuing invalid DMCA takedown notices. Publicly available discussions on forums, social media and blog posts from various victims who have received DMCA notices from Remove Your Media suggest that the scanning is done by searching for individual keywords within websites and automatically striking them without verifying that the content is actually infringing someone's copyright.

Copyright takedowns to Etsy sites (2020—Present)
[edit | edit source]There are numerous reports on the Internet about Remove Your Media sending copyright takedown notices to Etsy sites selling anime fanart and items. [3][4][5][6]
Mass copyright strikes against anime reaction channels on YouTube (September 2026)
[edit | edit source]At the beginning of September 2026, many anime reaction channels on YouTube began receiving dozens of copyright strikes from Remove Your Media on behalf of VIZ Media. In some cases the number of copyright strikes exceeded 100 and over 400 videos taken down.[7][8] Strikes impacted not only anime reaction videos but also commentary, discussion, and other types of videos without a single second of anime footage but which contained the name of the anime in the video title.[9]
A few days later after the incident began, Nicholas Light TV, one of well-known creators covering this incident, claimed that he and other creators had received a cease-and-desist from Remove Your Media that included orders to stop accusing them of fraud and copyright abuse.[10]
BleachBit DMCA notice
[edit | edit source]During the same period, BleachBit, an open-source disk cleaning software, received a false DMCA notice to their website bleachbit.org that said that the website was infringing on copyright of Bleach anime. BleachBit addressed this notice on their website, explaining the difference between the disk cleaning software BleachBit and the animated series Bleach.[11]
