This article is a joke
[edit source]You can complain all you want about the end of support but Google is insanely clear about when devices will stop being supported. The repeated references to a specific model (one which is fairly old by now) also leads me to believe the original author has no clue what they are talking about. - Looking at the google-help article you just linked it appears the `Lenovo 300e Chromebook 2nd Gen`'s support expires Jun 2029... is this article even accurate?
- I believe it was always googles intent to release supercheap and heavily discounted chrome-os devices to kids to make them fully dependent on their ecosystem for computing work. They're effectively a loss-leader for google, and will probably rake them in billions as people will be locked into google drive, google docs, google chrome, and google enterprise services.
- As a result, these laptops are effectively e-waste before they're even released to the public, because their spec is so low to keep the program(s) affordable (and the margins as high as possible for google). GarThor (talk) 20:55, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
