I think it is worth adding that in some cases Denuvo has significantly impacted game performance to the point where it is unplayable for some people who purchase the game full price. The actual performance impact depends on each person's setup (anecdotally I have played Monster Hunter Wilds with a friend and despite his build being over $2000 more expensive than mine it was unplayable for him and not for me). I can personally confirm this has happened with: - Monster Hunter Iceborne - Monster Hunter Wilds - Resident Evil 7 Below is clear evidence of performance before and after Denuvo was removed making it very clear this was not another issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKsesO3bdv4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ig4dqozB1I

Im unsure thats in the scope of this article, but on that topic, the slowdowns caused by denuvo have been heavily disputed by them every time those points are brought up. denuvo seems to want to prevent any sort of testing they can call fair though, and have made claims (that i havent been able to find currently) that it was due to bias in the testers making tests that magnify the overhead that denuvo adds.
i feel like this is a related case but it may be a weaker argument against them, given the state of pc gaming and how hardware requirements are viewed in general for when a game doesnt run well an a persons hardware setup even if the end result is that they cant play the game either way. ~2026-1932 (talk) 18:04, 22 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
