[edit source]I've reverted a couple of edits from @Debuser. The state of the page as-is can certainly be improved, and I'm not opposed to every change which was made, but they do seem to be excessively promotional, and large chunks of information have been removed and replaced with promotional content without any reason given.
Combining this with the fact that the edit comments in no way reflected the contents of the edits, these edits raised an eyebrow and it seemed most sensible to revert them. Keith (talk) 20:58, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- Is this bit of the reverted edits really worth discarding?
- "Model F Labs notes that complaints regarding paint wear stem almost entirely from the original production run of classic-style F62 and F77 models that began shipping over six years ago. The original zinc casting and matte paint formulation were intentionally selected to exactingly reproduce the historical 1970s and 1980s IBM manufacturing style, and the expectation of cosmetic imperfections and wear over time was explicitly disclosed on the product pages prior to purchase. Five years ago, the project transitioned to a modern, highly durable powder-coating formulation.
- The vendor reports zero complaints of premature wear for any of the newer keyboard models utilizing this updated finish. Remaining stock of the original models with the older paint formulation is still available, but with full disclosure regarding the finish and at a heavily discounted rate.[1]"
- Seems reasonable, given the back and forth at the source cited. Seems the article is more than a wee bit harsher on the company than deserved, and we should add this back in. (Me, I have no interest in or experience with this kind of hardware, and concur that Debuser's edit summaries were not cool.) CrookKilla (talk) 16:43, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think that's broadly ok assuming it's all true (I haven't checked), but needs a citationneeded or something for the 'Model F labs notes...' section since it's not supported Keith (talk) 16:54, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
