Bondtech AB is a Swedish manufacturer of extrusion hardware for FDM 3D printers, based in Värnamo & led by founder Martin Bondéus.[1][2] In July 2026 the company drew criticism when its INDX tool-changer nozzles, sold as hardened & abrasive-resistant, shipped as nitrocarburized steel measured at 30 to 32 HRC, roughly half the hardness of a true hardened nozzle; Bondtech admitted the labeling error on July 29, 2026.[3]

[edit | edit source]Bondtech AB develops & manufactures extrusion systems for desktop & industrial 3D printers, built around its dual-drive technology.[1] Its registered trademarks include Bondtech, BMG, LGX & Bondtech CHT.[3] The company is based at Repslagarevägen 3 J, 331 53 Värnamo, Sweden, & sells directly through its website at bondtech.se.[2] Martin Bondéus, the company's founder, serves as its chief executive.[1]
Products
[edit | edit source]Bondtech's core products are dual-drive extruders & upgrade kits for FDM 3D printers, including its BMG & LGX extruder lines, & its Core Heating Technology (CHT) nozzles.[3][1] Its INDX is an automatic tool-changing system that upgrades the Prusa CORE One into an eight-material printer, co-developed with Prusa Research & introduced at Formnext on November 19, 2025.[1] The INDX uses induction heating & contactless temperature sensing to bring each nozzle to temperature in a few seconds, & its first run was a limited Founders Edition of 1,000 units.[1]

Bondtech sold the nozzles for its INDX tool-changer as hardened & abrasive-resistant, but the units that shipped with the INDX Founders Edition & the initial Prusa CORE One+ INDX upgrade kits were nitrocarburized steel measured at 30 to 32 HRC, against the 55 to 60 HRC of a true hardened nozzle.[3] Founder Martin Bondéus disclosed the substitution in a support email, and Bondtech published a formal admission on July 29, 2026:[4]
The INDX nozzles (both Founders Edition and the CORE One+ Conversion kits from Prusa) were sold as hardened and abrasive-resistant. They are not, in the way that the description leads you to expect, and we need to set the record straight.
[3] Prusa Research halted shipments of its INDX conversion kits until mid-August 2026, & as of early August the company had not published a promised wear profile or a concrete compensation plan beyond standard returns.[4][3]
