Incorrect use of HRC
[edit source]One thing that makes it a bit confusing is that HRC is the incorrect way of mechering hardness of a serfice treatment.
For example HRC 30 would mean indentation depth of 140 um, while will the Nitrocarburizing only gives a 2-10 um thick diffusion layer.
This means that your only testing the hardness of the bas metal instead of the exterier. From my own limited testing we got a cerfic hardness of >60 HRC equivalent wich in some in line whit Nitrocarburizing.
I have no ideo how this on if it shold be integrated in the document, I will have official testing in like a month. SACGR (talk) 09:13, 21 August 2026 (UTC)
